SAFELY GOING DEEPER
Please Note: As we only conduct technical training in sea conditions which makes it weather and wind dependent as well as requiring proper boat dive availability, dives deeper than 30 metres are conducted from April onwards only. If you are looking to do helitrox or trimix level training before April or in the following months, we advise you to seek training with instructors who conduct courses year-round and utilise inland sites. For advice or recommendations please don't hesitate to contact us.
The TDI Trimix Course (dubbed Normoxic Trimix) provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing Nitrox and/or oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of sixty (60) metres.
The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen/helium/nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases. Gas mixes used on this course and at this certification level are not to have any less than eighteen (18%) percent O2 and the maximum diving depth is 60 metres. Underwater Explorers does not exceed an END of 30m at any depth of training.
The course is normally run over 4 consecutive days (or two weekends). A minimum of 4 training dives are required for successful completion. Underwater Explorers might require candidates to do a assessment dive with the course instructor prior to taking any bookings. The course fee includes required course manual and TDI certification fees. Boat fees and gas fills are not included. As on all higher level technical courses, instructor boat fees and gas costs are shared between students.
PREREQUISITES

- Have a minimum certification as a TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and Decompression Procedures Diver (or equivalent).
- Show proof of a minimum of one hundred (100) logged dives (25 deco dives deeper than 30m recommended)

- O2 clean Stage Cylinder(s) for decompression
- Separate Suit Inflation Cylinder (Argon cylinder)
- Primary and primary redundant required on all bottom mix cylinder(s).
- Submersible pressure gauges are required on all primary / bottom mix cylinders.
- A contingency use long hose second stage should be designated and appropriately rigged to facilitate air sharing at depth if necessary.
- It is strongly recommended that three (3) required regulators be all DIN or all yoke.
